The name pronounciation thread
« on: July 09, 2010, 10:24:17 PM »
So, how do you pronounce your playername? I sometimes wonder whether I'm pronouncing a players name correctly.

For example, Lugh is pronounced "Loo" or "Lu", but on TS I've had people calling me "Luke", "Luck" and "Luch", which can be quite funny.

Sometimes I wonder about Kalyan's name.
I pronounce it: Kay-lee-an
but should it be: Kal-Yan ?

Torecito can be quite confusing too.
I say: Toh-rih-see-toe
but others use: Tor-ee-sit-oh?

Brego too.
I say: Bray-go
but some use: Breh-go
or even: Bree-go

evacuee: ih-vak-yoo-ee, I guess.
It has evolved from the times I played Team Fortress (the original one) from about 2001 or something. It used to be eva4quaked or 4evaquaked, then evaquaked, evac (or actually 3v4c, if anyone remembers the cool names in Quake) and now finally evacuee.. or evac for short, either is fine. :P

Hush hush my lowlanders... go off and smoke a joint, that will cool your nerves.

And btw - I don't happen to care whether my name is pronounced Kay-lee-ent or Kah-lee-ent. Though I originally thought of it as Kah-lee-ent
