Rome 2 would be better

I'd like a Total War with cavemen clubbing each other to death, before dragging random women into their lairs.

I have to say after so long playing only Paradox Interactive strategy games (Grand Strategy that is, i.e. Europa Universalis III, Victoria II, HoI 3...) I find the campaign mode of total war games very disappointing... It's just so simple, and basic, like for a child. I mean honestly, they couldn't have had more than 150 provinces in Empire, EUIII has a few thousand. Armies are at max a few thousand, in Paradox games they can be in the hundreds of thousands... The diplomacy is utterly dumb, and you can continue to muster armies and raise taxes even when half you country has been stripped bare after years of war! There's even no casus belli(an official reason for war) necessary to invade, the entire game is over in only 200 turns(EUIII is real-time pausable) and yet you can manage to take over the whole world without practically any real trouble, or the stresses of such rapid expansion! But I digress...

The battles are the only thing that keeps me interested in the series, and they are pretty epic  ^-^

Indeed

Loved Eu3 with magna mundi and whole world mode (i think its called that)

But as said, the battles in the total war games make up for the rest  ^-^

And he lacks taste. How could one battle for a RANDOM woman??
Will I challenge him?
God, no! I will send an arrow through his back.

Shogun 2 Release Date Announced
The wait is over. We’re excited to be able to announce the release date for Shogun 2: Total War as March 15th, 2011.

Shogun 2: Total War will feature enhanced full 3D battles via land and sea, which made a name for the series, as well as the tactical campaign map that many refer to as the heart and soul of Total War.

Featuring a brand new AI system inspired by the scriptures that influenced Japanese warfare, the millennia old Chinese “Art of War”, The Creative Assembly brings the wisdom of Master Sun Tsu to Shogun 2: Total War. Analysing this ancient text enabled The Creative Assembly to implement easy to understand yet deep strategical gameplay.

Many thanks,

CraigTW (aka Craig Laycock)
The Creative Assembly
